WOW,how beautiful,that's a nice spot for my next holiday I guess,wait when I got extra money's ha ha,Nadya went to Thailand recently but I don't know if she visited Phuket,she wanted to visit Max's sister Michal who lives by an aunt in Thailand,nowhere near Bangkok,it's several hours away from there,she brought some gifts for my kids,how sweet ...

The Vegetarian Festival

Which takes place in late September, is the most famous and spectacular of these. However, there are events throughout the year. Songkran, in April, is the Thai new year but is also an excuse for a huge water fight. While Loi Krathong, in November is a more subdued but magical festival.
There are processions through the streets and tests of devotion where supplicants perform acts of self-mortification including piercing of the cheeks and tongues with knives and various objects. The more impressive events include ascetic devotees walking on burning coals and climbing ladders with knife-edged rungs. Definitely not for the faint hearted.

This Chinese ancestor worship festival takes place in the seventh Chinese lunar month, which is when the Chinese believe that the spirits of the dead are released from the underworld. The Chinese communities in Phuket make food offerings to appease the hungry spirits and to pay their respects. Turtle-shaped cakes are a popular offering as turtles represent longevity. The worshippers believe that these turtle cakes will help prolong their own life. Events take place around Phuket's Chinese shrines at different times over a 15-day period. Like most other festivals Chinese Phuket, there is a lot of food, as well as stage performances.

This event takes place in mid-August at Saphan Hin on the edge of Phuket City. The scale of the display means that the spectacle can also be enjoyed from other locations, such as Rang Hill, or anywhere along Phuket Bay.

It takes place on the night of the full moon in November and is the most magical of all Thai festivals. Small lotus-shaped boats woven from banana leaves, called krathongs, are floated on water. These vessels contain small flowers, candles, incense and offerings to thank Mother Water for providing water for them to use. Thai people also believe that if they place a strand of hair or nail clipping in the krathong their troubles will be carried away with it.

Get well Tuk !!

Chemo is done, they gave only half as much oft the usual chemo, due to Max's high Liver count, his red blood is ok but his white blood is very low, Tuk said she even has to be careful when touching him because he will easily get bruises due to the low white blood, now the doctors were checking his liver size by feel and by using Ultrasound, Biopsy, the feeling of Max's abdomen showed a slightly enlarged liver but on the Ultrasound the liver seamed still bigger, I think it a good sign that it can't be felt big but I don't know about the other results because get my information from Tuk, as we know, she's very stressed and might mix up things or did not understand the doctor well due to communication problem(English)yesterday Tuk fell down, she wasn't feeling well for a few day's already, she was so exhausted, taking care of Max all by herself isn't easy and then the bad news about their lil daughter Michal, Tuk sis from Thailand(where Mishal stay now)informed them that Mishal wasn't feeling to good and that she stay in hospital with high fever,the doctors in Thailand checked everything but couldn't find the reason for her condition,the just gave her injections over three day and then sent her back home,now she's back in hospital, Tuk worried like crazy, never eat never slept and that's the reason for her medical condition, now all she wants is go to Thailand and see her daughter but financial conditions don't let that be, now the have to pay for the hospital bill over there in Thailand, that's all not easy, some people have all the luck and others never stop suffering ...

Liver Biopsy
Often times a liver biopsy will be ordered because it provides reliable information for a cancer diagnosis. A biopsy involves the collection of a small tissue sample that is then examined under a microscope. Normal cells have a distinct and orderly appearance and are different than cancer cells which are chaotic and malformed. By examining the cells under a microscope, the pathologist can determine the presence of diseased cells and the extent of their invasion.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound uses sound waves, not x-rays, to generate images. A jelly-like substance is applied to the skin overlying your liver. Then a probe, called a transducer, is passed over the skin. The transducer sends out sound waves that pass through the body and are echoed back. The transducer receives the echoes and transmits them to a computer console which in turn interprets the echo data as internal organs and tissues.
Because ultrasound is simple, inexpensive and noninvasive, it is often one of the first tests ordered during the staging process. Unfortunately, test results are highly dependent upon the sonographer (sonographertechnician who specializes in the operation of ultrasound equipment), the quality of the scanner, and the overall build of the patient. As a result, ultrasound may not detect all tumors in all cases.
Ultrasound may be performed in the physician's office or on an outpatient basis in a clinic. Most ultrasound tests take only a few minutes and results are obtained immediately. In patients with liver tumors, ultrasound is used to locate and measure the size of a tumor and to determine if it is solid or cystic.
In addition, ultrasound is an important modality that is used at the time of surgery and is called intraoperative ultrasound. This examination should be performed on all patients who undergo a surgical procedure on the liver. It will identify all of the tumors within the liver and clarify the relationship to blood vessels in the liver. The probe is placed directly on the liver at the time of surgery. This test provides critical information that will influence the treatment strategy.

MMS ed from Tuk to me, wow so cute all those pics, not like the old Max at all, ha ha, no this Max show much more emotions and he has a new attitude which drives his mom nut's but it also shows that he feels more stronger now, he talks much more, can even ask his mom to put down the phone, last time he said,bye bye talk, that's but naughty, he is always so concerned about me and ask if I still got pain "ti pain" and if I answer with "no auntie is fine now" then he'll say "ti come" ,I want to see him so much but the won't let anyone in the room, I have problems sitting or standing for long periods, still have to wait for the new liver blood count, he had one test between and it showed a much better result, I think it was about 400, that's an improvement from the last number which was 2004, if this test is OK then they will go on with the chemo treatment, all the best to my dear Max, love you ...

Today Max got his first chemo treatment and Tuk was very excited that finaly the results were good enough to start the therapy, the good news however didn't last for very long, she just called me up at 6pm, telling me that Max liver blood count came out not good, his count is about 2004 which is very high, and they have to stop the chemo therapy, the doctor asked Tuk if she was giving any kind of traditional herbs or medication to Max and Tuk was like wth ... are the trying to put the blame for his high blood count on me, she never give him any traditional herbs or medication, the funny thing is that Max seams to be ok, I talk to him every day on the phone and Tuk said it too that he seams ok, of cause Tuk is very worried and me too

Since 23 of June, Max was back at KK hospital, awaiting his Chemo Therapy, he will receive it by tomorrow if everything is clear, hope he get it fast, no need to waste precious time, I 'm so sad because he keeps asking for me but I'm unable to visit him at this moment,just had my spine operation done and very weak on my legs still, as soon as I'm able to stand longer I will sure visit him"did you hear me Max,I will sure come and visit you soon" stay strong my boy, yesterday when Tuk called my on my phone, I hear ed him laughing at the background, so cute,I asked Tuk what he was doing and she told me that he was jumping on the bed, pretending to be a monkey and laughing all by himself ...

Max loves the PSP, he was very proud to let me see how he pressed the buttons ...It was the first time that Max was the visitor and Leila(me)the patient in the hospital, he looked like he wanted to ask me"what are you doing in the bed", he looked so cute, he came very near to me looked at me with his big eyes and gave me the super sweet smile, he repeated it a few times, that was so cute, he kept on saying "ti pain"and pointed to my back ...

how beautiful they brought me this nice basket with all those nice smelling roses, and they brought Lot's of food for me,thank you so much to Max,Tuk and Matthew, see you soon ...

Yes you read it right, Max is out of KK since Monday night, well just for a while, until he is totaly free from any cough, flu or fever, he has to be very fit for the next chemo because the chemo this time will be even stronger than all the others that he received before, unlucky for Tuk is that she herself is not feeling well and she got backpain, just like me hmmm, thats funny, poor thing, I gave her some of my painkiller,hope they help her, as for me I have to be operated on my spine this saturday, got slip disc and it's serious, maybe you wondered because I seldom updated, yes that's one of the reasons I didn't, I was and still am in great pain, so sorry to all of you for not updating and it might be a nother two weeks before I will update again ...

Doctor said Max is out of danger, his condition is stable again, it's not worsening, that's once again great news, as soon as he is free from any virus and infections he will get chemo treatment, if the test is negative on Monday then Max might leave the hospital for about 3 days, don't know why, guess the doctor knows best what they are doing ...

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a major cause of respiratory illness in young children. RSV causes infection of the lungs and breathing passages. In adults, it may only produce symptoms of a common cold, such as a stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, mild headache, cough, fever, and a general feeling of being ill. But RSV infections can lead to other more serious illnesses in coughs or sneezes. The virus can also live on surfaces such as counter tops or doorknobs, and on premature babies and kids with diseases that affect the lungs, heart, or immune system.
RSV is highly contagious, and can be spread through droplets containing the virus when a person hands and clothing. RSV can be easily spread when a person touches an object or surface contaminated with the virus. The infection can spread rapidly through schools and child-care centers. Infants often get it when older kids carry the virus home from school and pass it to them. Almost all kids are infected with RSV at least once by the time they are 2 years old.
RSV infections often occur in epidemics that last from late fall through early spring. Respiratory illness caused by RSV — such as bronchiolitis or pneumonia — usually lasts about a week, but some cases may last several weeks. Doctors typically diagnose RSV by taking a medical history and doing a physical exam. Generally, in healthy kids, it's not necessary to distinguish RSV from a common cold. But in cases where a child has other health conditions, a doctor might want to make a specific diagnosis. RSV is typically identified in nasal secretions, which can be collected either with a cotton swab or by suction through a bulb syringe.
Preventing RSV
Because RSV can be easily spread by touching people or surfaces that are infected, frequent hand washing can go a long way toward preventing the virus from spreading around a household. It's best to wash your hands after having any contact with someone who has any cold symptoms. And keep your school-age child with a cold away from younger siblings — particularly infants — until the symptoms pass.
To prevent serious RSV-related respiratory disease, at-risk kids can be given a monthly injection of a medication consisting of RSV antibodies during peak RSV season (roughly November to April). Because its protection is short-lived, it has to be given in subsequent years until the child is no longer at high risk for severe RSV infection. Ask the doctor if your child is considered high risk.
Treating RSV
Fortunately, most cases of RSV are mild and require no specific treatment from doctors. Antibiotics aren't used because RSV is a virus and antibiotics are only effective against bacteria. Medication may sometimes be given to help open airways.
In an infant, however, an RSV infection can be more serious and may require hospitalization so that the baby can be watched closely, receive fluids, and, if necessary, be treated for breathing problems.
At home, make a child with an RSV infection as comfortable as possible, allow time for recovery, and provide plenty of fluids. The last part can be tricky, however, because babies may not feel like drinking. In that case, offer fluids in small amounts at more frequent intervals than usual.
To help your child breathe easier, use a cool-mist vaporizer during the winter months to keep the air moist — winter air can dry out airways and make the mucus stickier. Avoid hot-water and steam humidifiers, which can be hazardous and can cause scalding. If you use a cool-mist humidifier, clean it daily with household bleach to discourage mold.
If your child is uncomfortable and too young to blow his or her own nose, use a nasal aspirator (or bulb syringe) to remove sticky nasal fluids.
Treat fever using a non aspirin fever medicine like acetaminophen. Aspirin should NOT be used in children with viral illnesses since its use in such cases has been associated with Reye syndrome, a life-threatening illness.

Today I went to KK hospital, couldn't enter the room and Max is in isolation, he cought a Virus, wonder where he got that from, it may be spreadable and might even be dangerous to some people, don't ask me what virus, I do not know, I have no clue whats going on, the doctor seams very unfriendly and said that the mother(Tuk)is not supposed to exit the room, Tuk is slowly getting mad, oh dear, poor Max, he cried when I could not enter his room,kept on calling ti come ti come, ti = auntie, his bone marrow biopsy was posetive, that's not good, means he still got LCH, so sad, they(the doctors) urge them(Max's parents) to make bone marrow transplant ...

Usually Max should have gotten his chemo treatment yesterday but it had to be postponed, he vomited and had fever, guess the allergic reaction to the hospital is worsening, if he gets over it, then the chemo treatment will start on this Wednesday(tomorrow), come on Max, do it faster so you can walk on the road again soon, Well!! Tuk informed me so late about that, guess she was busy, ha ha, I could have visit him at KK yesterday and would have gotten my hugs and kisses, I was so free, like a bird, what to do, don't know if I got the time today, anyway instead I went out shopping with Liza, all kind of nonsense things and she got the shirt she wanted and was happy once again LOL ...

Went to KK Hospital to visit Max and his mom, Oh he looked great and he was such a happy and funny fellow today, no sign of unwell's at all but he is not that well as he looks, he had fun playing with the laser gun witch I brought for him, and look who is accompanying Max at KK, YES it's monkey ha ha, what's for lunch, well Max had Pizza direct delivered by his dad, and the hospital staff adored him as usual, me too, just love this little man ...

Fungus, fever, diarrhea + infection

3 weeks outside he was apearing so strong and healthy but just a day at the hospital prooves that Max has all sorts of symptoms of a not so heathy little boy, Damn!! they found a shading on his lung, fungus and bacteria in his stool, he got diarrhea and fever too, now they wait for the blood and bone marrow test results, usely the doctor wanted to start chemo yesterday but Tuk asked to test Max stool and blood first, now they got to cure his infections first before starting with the new chemo ...

On a Discovery Trip

First when we entered the Discovery Center it was like, Oh Dear!! Was it a good idea to bring Max here, Max was scared because the place was very dark, guess he got his parents genes, ha ha, he wanted us to bring him out again but we just continued the discovery, after a while Max was OK, phew ... lucky, he even enjoyed some of the activities over there, it wasn't a waste ...

later we went to have some food and drinks at the Discovery Center, little Max(well he is now little again)got so used to it to eat Pizza and he loves it but mom ordered spaghetti for him, WOW!! He wasn't to happy about that and showed us his attitude, he wanted to hold his food in his own hands, Tuk placed some Spaghetti on his hands, ha ha, so funny, you must have seen his reaction, he was screaming and shouting, Tuk had to control herself not to ... , LOL,I had an idea, I took a paper plate, folded it like a Pizza shape and placed some of the cheese and Spaghetti on top of it, he was happy and satisfied and we had our Peace again, he kept holing his Spaghetti in a Pizza shape in his hand and nibbled, if even some time had a bite of the plate, well he didn't complain at at all, we had back our sweet and funny little Max whom we all adore ...

Hey , today we went to the fun fair, yes it really fun for us, don't know who enjoyed more, we or Max, lucky guess, US!! He He, Max took a ride in the airplane and wanted to go out very fast, I took a ride with him in the shoo shoo train and the first time he enjoyed but as soon as he got tired he were moody too, Tuk screamed her lungs out, we tricked her into the fun fairs, well she regretted it LOL, she was so scared, she showed us how she were sweating out of fear, ewe!! All her sweat on us, then we went into the hunted house, big mistake, never ever go with Tuk in a hunted place, you will surly regret it an suffer the pain, LOL, she kept on screaming, it wasn't that scary but I shocked by their screams, at one time Tuk got so scared and faster jumped on me, OUTCH, I knocked into a metal fence and felt like strangling her, I was like owwwwwwwwwwwwrrrrrrrrrrrr whatever that means, later on Matthew joined us and went into almost all the rides, in one of the rides he kept on mumbling Oh my God, Oh my God, in the other he kept on saying, Leila you tricked my AHHHH AHHHH!! Ha ha, I was innocent, why blame me, well at least he didn't wipe his sweat on us ... Boohoo !! ...

What a surprise, got picked up by Max and family at the evening, they didn't let us know where they're going too bring us, sort of a kidnap ha ha, Max was so tiny, I didn't meet with him for a week, he;s so adorable and getting naughty now, he looks so different, stronger and fresher, I'm so glad that he's doing well, so back to the kidnap, they brought us to PIZZA HUT, ha ha that was the 2ND time since Max has his so called holidays ...

Every person has cancer cells in the body.These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.
Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.
When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.
CANCER CELLS FEED ON:
Sugar, is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like Nutrasweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us.. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons. Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

Ha ha, this is really funny, Max went back to hospital just to find out that the air con in his cell is not working, oh dear !! he was soooo... happy he didn't have to stay, poor boy got panicked when bring him to the hospital again, even his favourite nurse couldn't cheer him up "go go...no no...out" is all he had to say, so Max went home and returned yesterday, well guess what, he got another good news, he can do another week holidaying, REASON!!... there is no chemo available for him, his chemo is discontinued by the company, ahem OK !!?? SO he got til Wednesday that's great, more time for me to spend with my darling Max I missed already two precious days without him err, but I'm also kinda worried about the NEXT even do he's really doing well at the moment!! it all sound like ????? to me ...

What did the doctor say, it's like a time bomb, that sound scary to me, hmmm...WTH, don't what to feel and what to think anymore, every time it's changing his condition, his parent's are left to think of the next step for Max, they don't want to go for bone marrow transplant unless there is no more other options, Max can probably go out on Tuesday if everything is OK, I mean what is there OK anyway, it's all so confusing, what is going to come next, tomorrow I want to go and see Max, Tuk would like to make a barbecue with all of Max's friends, I think that's great but I would suggest that she don't have to pay for it by herself, why not everyone bring something for the barbecue, don't have to be expensive, maybe a bottle soft drink or some chilly sauce or the plastic cups or a packet of sausages anything will do, try to think what you can afford and we can have some fun together!!

First of all a very Happy first may holiday to all of you, sorry darling, wanted to meet you today but got flu and fever out of a sudden, hope it will disappear soon, than I will see you, hugs and kisses to you and your mom, now to everyone else, Tuk told me that Max can go out of the hospital soon but only for a week or two, up to his condition, kind of a holiday for mom and Max before the big medical treatment starts, if everything is OK than he'll be able to leave the hospital by next week, I don't know why but I got mixed feelings about that, first he was kept in isolation and now out of a sudden he can go out for two weeks, I don't know what to think but on the other hand I'm so happy about it, after the two weeks break he might get another chemo another trial and if that does not help, their last options might be bone marrow transplant, the doctors said that there are 5 donors available if I'm not wrong ...

Vanessa and Yazier went to see Max at KK today, first Tuk and Max were sleeping when Vanessa and Yazier arrived there, it was more one of Max's bad days today, he wasn't in the mood, who knows what he had to go trough, I heared his fever is getting higher again, we all can't imagine and can't expect him always to be the happy Max even when he's in pain, Vanessa and Yazier tried to cheer him up from where they stand, outside the door, not easy from that distance, though he was a bit amused by Yazier's cowboy hat, HaHa, well it worked for me too, very COOL!! poor Max, have to stay locked up for so long, while there are cowboys peeping into his room, lol, couldn't help myself, joking joking, he looks good with his cowboy hat, must be terrible for a 2 year old, who loves to run after the robots, those who deliver the food and the documents at KK, now being tied up to this small space, and seeing everyone else walking around, his only joy nowadays is collecting coins from the nurses for his saving box, but how long does this kind of fun last.

Should THEY GO TROUGH BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT? The doctors are urging Tuk to let Max have a bone marrow transplant, even Max seams better now, there is still the risk that the LCH might come back, Tuk is scared to death, not knowing what the bone marrow transplant will do to Max, while transplantation is a life-saving therapy, not all recipients survive, sometimes a patients body cannot withstand the pre-transplant chemotherapy and radiation, sometimes health complications occur after the transplant but for many recipients, a transplant is successful and their best or only option and a hope for a second chance of life, it's only left option, other than that the doctors can't do anymore, the problem is that nowadays people don't have time to explain with patience, Tuk understands English but have problems when it comes to medical language, who dosn't, we are not doctors.

WHAT IS BONE MARROW?
Bone marrow is a spongy tissue found inside bones. The bone marrow in the breast bone, skull, hips, ribs and spine contains stem cells that produce the body's blood cells. These blood cells include white blood cells (leukocytes), which fight infection; red blood cells (erythrocytes), which carry oxygen to and remove waste products from organs and tissues; and platelets, which enable the blood to dot.

WHY TRANSPLANT?
in patients with leukemia, aplastic anemia, and some immune deficiency diseases, the stem cells in the bone marrow malfunction, producing an excessive number of defective or immature blood cells (in the case of leukemia) or low blood cell counts (in the case of aplastic anemia). The immature or defective blood cells interfere with the production of normal blood cells, accumulate in the bloodstream and may invade other tissues.

WHAT A PATIENT FEELS DURING THE TRANSPLANT
a bone marrow transplant is a physically, emotionally, and psychologically taxing procedure for both the patient and family, the bone marrow transplant is a debilitating experience, imagine the symptoms of a severe case of the flu - nausea, vomiting, fever, diarrhea, extreme weakness, now imagine what it's like to cope with the symptoms not just for several days, but for several weeks, complications can develop after a bone marrow transplant such as infection, bleeding, graft-versus-host disease, or liver disease, which can create additional discomfort, the pain, however is usually controllable by medication, in addition, mouth sores can develop that make eating and swallowing uncomfortable, temporary mental confusion sometimes occurs and can be quite frightening for the patient who may not realize it's only temporary.

PREPARING FOR THE TRANSPLANT
a successful transplant requires the patient be healthy enough to undergo the rigors of the transplant procedure, age, general physical condition, the patients diagnosis and the stage of the disease are all considered by the physician when determining whether a person should undergo a transplant, prior to a bone marrow transplant, a battery of tests is carried out to ensure the patient is physically capable of undergoing a transplant, tests of the patients heart, lung, kidney and other vital organ functions are also used to develop a patient "baseline"

against which post-transplant tests can be compared to determine if any body functions have been impaired, the pre-transplant tests are usually done on an outpatient basis, a successful bone marrow transplant requires an expert medical team - doctors, nurses, and other support staff - who are experienced in bone marrow transplants, can promptly recognize problems and emerging side effects, and know how to react swiftly and properly if problems do arise, a good bone marrow transplant program will also recognize the importance of providing patients and their families with emotional and psychological support before, during and after the transplant, and will make personal and other support systems readily available to families for this purpose.

Oh my God, Max was like new born today, so fresh, he was bubbling, dancing, hugging, kissing and laughing all the way, his tummy slimmed down a lot and he was eating the nuts that I brought, he was so cute, Liza and Nasir went to visit him too, it was just so great, I've got a lot of hugs and kisses from him, everyone was dancing on ward 76 haha, I mean everyone who passed by Max's room and saw him dancing, his toes, his tummy,his head and arm, everything was moving on him.

It looks like Max won his battle against LCH, can't believe it still, is it real, my neck hair standing up for joy, his bone marrow test showed no sign of LCH any longer, some of you asked me if that means that Max will live a normal life from now on, well I guess that is still a little bit early to say, we have to take step by step, let us all be happy for the first good news, he still gets blood transfusion nearly every day, the strong chemotherapy kills fast-growing cells, but can affect normal, healthy cells too, the time it takes to get over some side effects varies from person to person, since two days Max had no more fever, that is a good start, let's hope Max stays strong so that he can recover faster, well he is a superhero, if he can fight LCH than there should be no problem for him now!! I'm so happy, I cry for joy, what a good feeling, I almost fell from my chair while hearing the good news and wanted to shout"let's party"lol, we still have to wait for a while, let's enjoy the moment. what a miracle.After the good news came the shock again, the bone marrow test was only saying that there is no more LCH in his bones, not knowing if the disease is still somewhere else in his body, like for example skin or organ, Tuk did not ask the doctor about that, errrrr, but never mind, it's still good news that there is no more LCH in his bones.

Wow,I wasn't at KK for quite a while now,think it was last Friday, hmmm so bad but I was busy with cleaning the things that I had not cleaned for some time now, after my job I admit I was lazy, lazy for the long way, busy too with blogging, got now my own page under the name Arlette which is my German name lol, you can pass by if you feel bored, anyway Tuk called me every day, she is still waiting for the bone marrow test result, she think she will get it by Wednesday, hope everything is best for Max, it just have to have a happy ending, for his sake, Tuk said Max had still fever and they still don't know why, now it's raining like crazy and I'm glad I did not go out of my house. Yesterday Nadya visited Max at KK with her boyfriend Saiful, unluckily for them, they were not able to enter Max room, guess his immune system was still down, they had a peek from outside and peeked on Mika too, there was a lot of peeking going on, hm mm, lol, Matthew and Tuk were just leaving the hospital at the moment of Nadya and her bf 's arrival, Matthew and tuk were on the way to buy some food at Little India and I think they went to church, Nadya wasn't able to talk much with then, she told me that Max seamed OK accept that he looked a bit sad, guess that might because his parents left him withe a nurse, ha ha, he don't like his mother to go anywhere else accept beside him all the time.
I tried to call them but it was useless because their phones doesn't work, anyway thanks to Nadya I know that Max was OK and that's all that matters.

Yes, Max was so into his own crying that he bit his own mouth, I guess he didn't realise it either, Tuk didn't realise it at first, she panicked after seeing the blood running out of his mouth, scared that the blood was from his organs, the doctors checked and told her the good news...phew!! His fever went don a lot, from 40 over to 38, that's good, keep it up darling, fight the bad one, today I will go and visit him, haven't seen him for 2 long days, I know Nadya, you haven't seen him for much longer but anyway that's in your hands, you can go and see him, tomorrow is your Birthday, maybe they let you in who knows :)

I'm not sure if that is for real or not, Tuk called me today and said that Max's blood test came out negative, that will be positive because no bacteria in his blood, 2 day's ago he had still 4 different types of very strong bacteria, WOW!!! Can't believe it but wish it's true, he still had fever and this morning he vomited but at least he drank some milk and Tuk said he looked much fresher today, he still get blood transfusions and his antibiotics is actually for adults, he really is a strong boy, my Super boy!!! I didn't meet Max today, wanted to but was kind of busy at home but I heard his voice on the phone hehe so cute.

Met with Max again, to me he looked better today than the day before but the test shows differently, everything is low, I'm not sure what to think anymore, only that I feel good about the care and love he gets at KK hospital, which built on a foundation of hope for him, me having access to his isolation room is more than I can ask for, thank you so much, he talks and smiles when he got visitors, he is clearly a happier person with friend around him, everything possible is done for him, what more can we ask for, he must be strong to win this battle, there is always a chance of survival, never give up hope, always remain positive.

Today I went to KK to meet my darling Max, I was so very happy when they let me in to his room but then the shock, seeing him like this, it was hard for me to control my tears, he looked so weak and so very sad, I tried to make him laugh but failed, hearing what the doctor had to say made my fear of loosing him overwhelming, I am so very horrified what life would be without him, how could we go on? What must his parents go through, Tuk was so sad and she really looked tired, I can't imagine what they think, I would go crazy but what can we do, we can only hope for a miracle to happen, I put my faith in God and pray for Max not to be in pain, I want him to be strong and live a happy life, hope that all this is just a bad nightmare and that I wake up soon to find that Max is all right, I look forward to each day I have, to spend with Max and I want to see him grow up like all the other children, I look forward on spending many many years with him and his family, I hope he don't have to suffer, all the hospital staff were so sweet, trying to cheer Tuk up, loving and caring for Max, each of them and even those parents who have their own little darling in pain, are also very caring for Max and his parents, hope their children get well too, lets pray for all of them , Vanessa and Haikel came too, felt bad for them because they had to stand outside while I enjoyed the inside of the room, sorry guys.

After all that he'd been true, why can't he get better, just now the doctor told Tuk that it looks very bad with Max, too many bacteria in his blood and the doctors don't know what more to do, he don't seams like in a good enough condition to have a bone marrow transplant, what can we do, if only I know what but I don't, we did have all the hope but the doctors are the one who take away the hope from us, it's not their fault, LCH is really rare and there is no special medication known, they just treat it with chemo, it's up to individual persons, how strong they are, Tuk was crying so badly, later I go to KK but what can I do, just give her some comfort, Matthew was shouting on the phone when I talked to him just now, he was so angry with the doctors and screamed "I don't want to loose my son",that is so hard, life is so hard on them, they already got so many other problems, why so unfair, just now I cried bud now I feel too sad to cry, so shocked because yesterday he seamed so happy, what can I say to Tuk and Matthew to make them feel better, what I really don't know, anyone who wants to see Max, just go ahead, go, you sure can't enter the room but maybe see him and talk to his mom and find out more about the situation, I try to update as good as I can.

Well let me tell all of you that today everything seams much better then yesterday, that does not mean that he is all right, I mean he has LCH and that means he is very ill, anyway today he was talking with me on the phone and he seamed so much happier, he ask me to come and bring food for him, he he, yesterday I had to bring him french fries, he did not want to eat anything from anyone else ONLY FROM ME, oh I'm so touched my darling, of cause I will try my best to go there as soon as possible, he also called his daddy to come and eat some bread, how dutiful, my little Max is, he still got fever and diarrhea and vomited early this morning, Tuk had to sleep beside him, well she didn't get much sleep, especially at night he can't breath properly, the swelling is much lesser so I believe the body sore should be lesser too, he sounded healthier, I really hope he will get better and stay better, someone told me how painful a bone marrow transplantation is, I heared enough and hope he don't have to go trough that kind of suffer, please please PLEASE!!! Yesterday when I left the KK hospital Max was crying so much, I felt bad after hearing this because I felt it's my fault that he cried BECAUSE OF ME err, so sorry for Max but at least I know that he likes me, hmmmm,now it's not that bad already LOL, he he, Love him.

Twilight Zone? 2 types of feelings at once

What to say...today I felt like twilight zone, happy and sad at once, happy to be able to see Max, sad to see him suffer like this, oh my God, he was happy when he saw me and I felt like my heart was jumping up and down, he still remembered me wee, I didn't like that he was very upset because I couldn't enter his room, he kept calling tie tie (as in auntie) come and made the hand sign to come, how I wish I could just go to him and hug him but I had to watch him through two doors, with the help of Tuk and the friendly nurses on this ward, I was still able to get some pics of him and also two small videos, he received so many medication and blood, he was having high fever and his whole body was swollen from the side effects of the chemo, it really hurts to see him this way.

I was surprised how many people on ward 76 cared for Tuk and Max, they pampered Tuk with food and other thing, she is really loved by everyone, that's good to know people in Singapore are really very nice and caring..

He was receiving red blood,white blood, Lipid and TPN, TPN contains all important thing his body needs, like Dextrose, Sodium, TrophAmine, TPN: Total parenteral nutrition, intravenous feeding that provides a patient with all of the fluid and the essential nutrients when they are unable to feed themselves by mouth.

Tuk was crying on the phone, she's so worried about Max's condition, his legs are swollen and he was still shivering from fever, can't breathe properly, no one is yet aloud to come for visit, the situation is very tense, Tuk's mind don't let her relax a bit, she is becoming very sensitive for every little thing, Matthew is also stressed with work and with the expectation of Tuk to be there for her and Max, it's not easy and you start blaming each other, wish I could help them take care of Max but they don't let us come there and what a help would I be, standing outside the door, I think I would bring more stress to them, I myself am worried too, whenever Tuk calls me at an unusual time, I'm like a statue, holding my breath until I hear her say, everything is OK, I feel like wasting my time here, I could spend time with Max, try to make him happy, bring a smile on his cute face, everyone is thinking of him and misses him like crazy.

Tuk called, said Max still have fever, and his blood is very low, so strong medication but so little improve to his health, after a while it's always coming back to bad, oh dear...he was shivering like hell yesterday and I could hear his heavy breathing on the phone, sounded scary to me, I told Tuk that I really can't wait much longer and if there is no improvements with Max then I want to come and see him no matter what, maybe one more week but that's it then, maybe today I will go and see Tuk at KK hospital in evening, I really do miss all of them.

So, today was the last day of the chemo, let's pray that everything went right, I tried many times to contact Tuk but no luck, didn't reach her, guess have to wait til tomorrow to find out more, hopefully he don't have to go true a bone marrow transplant, this whole time of waiting has been really boring for me without Max, I don't have the mood to go anywhere since Max is in hospital, feel like I can't enjoy while they suffer, hope everything is back to normal soon again, I really miss the olden times, we had so much fun together and everything was still ok, I mean not as bad as it is now, feel like crying, life is full of sh.t, not fair at all.

Today's test has shown that there are some improvements on Max's condition, even if Max is still having a very high fever (40+ AND IT'S DUE TO THE CHEMOTHERAPY), his Liver and Spleen(The spleen is an organ involved in the production and maintenance of red blood cells, the production of certain circulating white blood cells, as a part of the lymph system, and as a part of the immune system,it is an organ located in the upper left part of the abdomen near the stomach)

are smaller now and that is a good sign, the red blood is good but the white blood is still to less, he is still receiving blood transfusion on daily basis, today while having his high fever he called out for his daddy, daddy needs to work, he managed to see Max for about 15 minutes LOL, Max wasn't to thrill about that, night time he calls out for mom, he says"mummy come, cold"he is shivering from his fever, Tuk crawl into his bed every night til he's ok and back to sleep, just now when I called he said to his mom"mummy Beat daddy"haha naughty naughty, then he called me tee(for auntie) and looked for his monkey as usual, well he knows me, actually the chemo will be until tomorrow afternoon but the Doctor said Max must still stay in isolation room, errrr WTH, how long is that going to take, patience Leila, relax, Tuk and Max are the one who suffer, we just miss them, LOL talking to myself.

Max vomited the whole night, his body is swollen, he has high fever, Tuk couldn't sleep at all last night even Matthew woke up very early to help Tuk with Max, Max is receiving chemo but not only the new one, no the old one for 2 hours daily too, that's a lot for such a small kid, no wonder he has side effects, now getting new medication for the swelling of his body which is coast by excess water, wonder what side effects that will have, Tuk said, in the morning she forced max to have some orange juice, Milo and a bit tofu, Tuk is exhausted, I can imagine, that's really tough for them, Mishal is fine, she's still with Tuk's sister in Thailand, Tuk calls daily to ask about her daughter, she growing and bubbling, at least there in Thailand are lots of relatives who can take her of Mishal, Tuk don't have to worry, still she's a mom and mom's can't forget their young ones.

Just got a call from Kung, my dreams are chattered again, can't go to KK to see Max, his chemo has started this morning and it's going to be at least 5 day's from now, hmp... like no mood any more, already prepared myself to go out, now that, hope the chemo works, Tuk is worried because the chemo is the strongest available at this moment and she fears that Max is not strong enough, actually he still had fever this morning and yesterday they said that there is still fungus in his stool, so why are they starting the chemo, isn't that dangerous, hope they know what they are doing, I guess they do, should be right?! Just sit and wait, poor Tuk, all by herself.

The good news is, his blood test is negative, no bacteria, the bad news is, the stool test is positive, got fungus, now must wait for the result of the full body scan that he got today, maybe later Tuk will inform me about that and also if he is going to get chemo tomorrow or not, if not then...Watch Me!!! Last week the nurses took some stool and blood samples from Max to check if there are any sings from fungus or bacteria, today Tuk found out, the nurses forgot to send the samples to the test labor, Tuk was so very mad about it, staying with Max since Sunday in isolation room is really hard, waiting for the results and hoping to start chemo, she waited for nothing, today they took samples of stool and blood again, now she have to wait for the results the second time, sure a few days before the results come out, this afternoon Matthew had to send Tuk to the doctor, she suddenly felt very dizzy, guess the whole stress and not enough rest, she barely eats too, since 5 month she stays with Max at the hospital and she is not sleeping on a proper bed, that's very tiring, nobody can imagine that, Max had to get some stitches on his chest today, the line cable had loosen up, they gave Max something to sleep but he didn't sleep, it was more like he was drugged, after the stitches were done he said"thank you"in a very cute way, Tuk and the hospital stuff had to laugh, Max is still having high fever til now and he want to walk out of his room so badly.

It's been 9 days since I last saw Max, first came my flu and now he's in isolation, plan to go KK tomorrow but not sure yet, I will only be able to see him through a glass window in the door, after he cry because he cannot come out of his room , I can't go in, what's the use but I miss him, don't want him to forget me, lol, double door some more ;(

Talked to Tuk on phone only, she says max got fever and they got to make a blood test again because he might have gotten bacteria again, who knows from where, no visitors, is this ever going to stop, poor Max, how much medicine he have to take in his young age, worried that even if he got better from his illness, is there any damage done to his health from all the medication, it scares me just to think about, Tuk is really up sad because no one comes to visit, she feels lonely and bored, everyone had flu, fever,trout pain or other reasons not to come, doctors also don't want many visitors, I'm feeling better today but I still don't think I should rush to meet Max, I want to wait till he got his chemo done, just to make sure that I don't carry any bacteria on me to him, sorry for Tuk but what to do, pray for him to be better soon, I want him to go to the beach, he loves it there, back to the older times, it was fun and Max were happier, I miss those times.

Still haven't been too KK to visit Max, it feels like never ending, miss him a lot,Mishal is fine in Thailand, I've spoken to Tuk on the phone yesterday, she told me that she calls her sister in Thailand every day, some times even twice just to find out everything about her sweetheart, it's not easy, Tuk says she misses her like crazy, anyway she's busy with Max, hope I can visit Max soon and that he don't need to go for Bone Marrow transplant.

Everything he answer with yes will be a "Ah", it's his newest favourite word, so far so good, his blood test came out as negative which means no bacteria in his blood and on his line, GREAT, I'm very happy for him, the doctors want to put him on isolation starting this coming Monday, Tuk don't want to wait this long she find it a waste of time and she worries that the bacteria may come back, I can not go to visit him because of flu, Vanessa,Liza,Asha...all are down with flu and fever, Nadya had just recovered from her flu, oh dear, what to do, miss Max, want to see him, hm mm,sum more not easy to contact Tuk, room phone not working properly and hp spoiled err...!

Her return to Singapore is postponed to tomorrow morning, what happened, Matthew booked her ticket for today but the Agent typed a wrong date, instead of today they typed yesterday and nobody felt the mistake, luckily she got a new flight tomorrow morning but she stuck ed at the Bangkok airport for at least 13 hours, oh dear!! That was another stress day for mom and dad,yesterday Matthew wished to get some sleep but at the end it was just a to little time to rest,tonight there will be no difference, I think they need the next whole week off, haha but how?? Matthew said max was fine, ant Asha visited him today and brought some food for Matthew and Tuk, don't know if Matthew was able to eat.

Tuk (Max's mom)called me from Thailand this morning, said she comes back to Singapore by tomorrow, yeah happy, missed her a lot, Matthew said Max is fine, I'm stucked at home, rain rain rain and not feeling to good, back pain, headache, and no mood for anything, start tomorrow Max have to go to isolation room, to control him from getting any infections, as we know, he is very vulnerable to infections, well someone is gonna be happy tomorrow to get his mami back, guess who.........M A X !!Matthew was really tired today because he had to run all over just to get the ticket for Tuk,wasn't that easy, he wanted me to book the ticket online but couldn't do that because the time was to late and the MasterCard he wanted to use was with Tuk haha, so we didn't know the expire date LOL, so he had to run from here to there just to get everything fixed, his last wish, he told me, was..."Hope Max is sleeping when I reach the hospital so that at least I can take my shower first, I'm so soaked from the rain and muddy from the sweat and I'm so damn (ops sorry) tired." Mom Tuk,called from Thailand, wanted to come to Singapore as fast as possible because she worries for Max, dad Matthew say, no need to rush, enjoy a bit, you suffer enough, Max is fine, stay until Thursday, don't worry...How sweet of him right!Oh my God,my day as babysitter was so boring, Max was sleeping most of the time, when he woke up he had bad mood, poor thing misses his mom and wanted to walk outside but the doctor say cannot, I stayed 10 hours but it felt like much longer, now I can understand Tuk more better, oh my, how long she stays there in hospital already, that feeling can not be described, it is horrible to stay as a non sick person in hospital when you can not leave the room, even if it's only for a day, now I'm home and I feel free again hehe.

Today mom"Tuk" just arrived at her hometown,it's far from Bangkok so I guess she stayed one night in Bangkok(hey that's a title of a song) first before continued to travel, she just informed her husband that she might be staying longer in Thailand as expected, maybe she will be back by Thursday night, I've just checked out out the fare, it will be about S$117 on that day, that's cheaper than on other day's, think Max will just go on with his chemo tomorrow, I will go to KK tomorrow morning.

OK, mom is off to Thailand, to leave her lil sweetheart with her sister, heavy hearted, that was not an easy decision for her and for all those people who think that she gave her daughter away because she don't love her, well they all got small brains and think evil of everyone and everything, anyway she's gonna bring her back to Singapore as soon as possible, dad is taking her over at the hospital for the moment, he have to rush from hospital to work and back again for at least 3 times a day, Max was doing fine until the nurse came to clean his new line, he started kicking in panic, especially with his mom not around, understandable with all this pain he go through, on Monday I will babysit him til his mom arrives from Bangkok, Liza visited Max today and babysit ted him for a few hours because dad had to work, Max was sleeping most of the time,Liza got bored...haha, Peter,Madeline,Kung's mom,Diann came in the morning and Nasir came about 5pm, after work, for a visit, so again plenty of visitors and lot's of happy time for Max.

Yes, today he had both, operation to lay the line and also Bone Marrow check, when I called his mom, he was just about to wake up and I heard a little rusty voice in the background, mom want to ask the doc to start chemo by tomorrow, she say don't want to waste time anymore, guess he was sleeping most of the time today and he was surely in a bad mood, after all the pain he had to go trough, we all have sore throat, couldn't go visit him, hmmmmmm sob, I think I will wait til Friday before I go to the hospital, miss him already.

Sorry I have not been in touch, it was chemo and steroid week last week for Jay and they've found a lump on his head. He is fine though smiling through, as always. How is Max? Hope he feeling o.k? I contacted the Histiocytosis Research Trust (UK) and The Histiocytosis of America to discuss possible funding. The association in America said there should be some money from a children's charitable trust at the hospital in Singapore that will be available for his parents, but if they still need some support the trust need to speak to his oncologist to find out the extent of his disease, or an e mail of confirmation, what needs doing (bone marrow etc..) Is it o.k for some one to contact Max's doctor? I think they just need to know specifically how they can help-it would be great if I could talk to them too so I can establish what he needs so I can try to help. Hope this is not too much trouble and truly hope he is doing well.

Fun with Lionel, Peter, Lyn and Vanessa, Max was just being poked with needles, this time in his foot again, so, no walking, poor thing, he was just starting to enjoy his corridor walks and mom need to carry him again, but this 4 teens managed to cheer him up again and brought a big smile on his face, just as they left the hospital, max got some more visitors,Saiful and Nadya came, so it turned out to be a real fun day for Max, Saiful joked around with him while Nadya became a full time photographer, ahaha, you all brought joy to little Max,thanks a lot for all your time, your parent's should be proud of you :)

Yeah!!I can say, it really was fun today at the hospital, lot's of visitors and Max in good mood and great energy, he looked sick but only because he cried a lot on the day before when he got poked with needles, 4 times, that's why he got lot's of rashes around eyes, nose and forehead, but he was so happy yesterday, not so for Baby sis Mishal, she was crying all the time, guess to many people for her, Mom had to walk around non stop with her, Today we met Matthew's sister, she kooked fish curry for Max and it was such a joy to see him eat, he just loved the fish, couldn't stop eating, asked his aunt to put more fish, his aunt, Matthew's sister, she looked like a very nice lady, friendly and fun, I liked her, happy if can meet again soon.

Hard but no choice, mom has decided to send Baby sis Mishal to her relatives in Thailand on 1.march, she can't take care of both while staying in hospital, at least for the next few weeks or for as long as Max have chemo, I hear ed they want to start chemo by next week again, today he received two pack's of red blood, he got poked in his hand this time, mom say he is very active and don't want to stay in bed any longer, I can't visit him now because I got cough cough cough, better wait a few days. Today she got some donations, about S$100 from people who don't even know them, they so this blog and felt they wanted to help, NICE people, the money helps mom for buying pampers, powder, baby bath and milk, happy for mom, glad my blog helped somehow, weeeeee :)

A little fever here a little pain there but not as bad as all the weeks before.

Nadya and Saiful

Today Tuk was very busy, taking care of her two kids alone in the hospital, I hear ed them both screaming when I called her, stress haha, however still got to kiss and hug Mishal, she can't see her every day, mostly only Sunday's, in the evening Max got fever again but blood tests are ok, anyway he is in a better mood nowadays, more laughter and more active, that's great, hope he don't have to suffer, mom is getting crazy at the hospital, she wants to get out, staying there for more than 3 month already, that's tough, I would get crazy too, lucky she got a visit from sis in low and could relax her mind a bit, sis in low promised to help her to pay for ticket to send baby Mishal to Thailand.
